What makes EcoMod homes different than standard stick-built construction methods or other container homes? Here’s an overview of our process and the key differences:
We start with single-trip shipping container that are free of major dents, rust, or contaminants. This allows for our our homes to be more water, fire, mold, and pest resistant.
A proprietary system of recycled plastic studs and closed-cell foam is installed on both the interior and exterior of the container. This makes the entire structure 4x stronger than conventional building methods.
The foam insulation we use is non-porous, moisture resistant, and is more stable over time compared to other types of insulation. This process allows for a 57% increase in performance insulation performance, resulting in significantly lower utility bills. In addition, this allows for an 80% reduction in the amount of lumber used.
We minimize the modifications to the containers when installing windows and doors. This allows the containers to retain their structural integrity while using only the necessary structural support, allowing for a 30% reduction in construction costs.
Our entire process happens in our modular factory, resulting in a home that can be built in a matter of days, not months. This allows our customers to move into their homes 2-4x faster than conventionally built homes, with significantly less material waste and a higher quality product.
The appliances and mechanical systems are are fully electrified, allowing for greater efficiency, lower utility bills, and fewer greenhouse gas emissions. EcoMod homes can be Net Zero Energy ready.
We use modern and very durable materials and finishes resulting a home that meets or exceeds International Building Codes.
Your new home gets delivered over 90% finished in a factory, with only minimal finishing on-site, allowing for greater quality control, and fewer ongoing ownership costs.
